Series and Programming

The Lively Arts presents nearly 200 performing and visual arts events each year through its Ovations and College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs' I❤IUP programming. For well over a decade, the Ovations series has brought world-renowned performances to our local stages with a lively lineup of Broadway hits, world music and dance, live theater, classical symphonies, jazz and blues artists, and contemporary musicians. As is the College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs' tradition, the I❤IUP series presents all of the astounding performances from our students, faculty, and their guests. Students and faculty from the college's Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, and the Department of Art and Design work endlessly to provide artistic offerings with their Sound Choices performances, Theater-by-the-Grove productions, and Kipp Gallery exhibitions. Add to this mix the incredible collection of fine art displayed within the walls of the University Museum and the talented musical ensembles of the IUP Community Music School, and it becomes evident that the Lively Arts keeps the arts alive within our community.

Educational Outreach

With many Ovations events, the Lively Arts provides an outreach activity for students, local schools, and community members through its ArtsPath program. In addition to this collaboration with the incoming performers, ArtsPath provides artist residencies to communities, senior centers, and schools within a five-county area, taking the arts to over 5,000 additional students and thousands of other community members.

Lively Arts Sponsors

The support of many individuals, organizations, and corporations is what makes the Lively Arts' series and programming possible. Email lively-arts@iup.edu or call 724-357-2787 (ARTS) to discover how you can support the Lively Arts at IUP.
