IUP鈥檚 Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies; the IUP Free Speech Project; and the Social Equity and Title IX Office will present 鈥淚鈥檓 Just a Bill: The Constitution, Executive Orders, and Separation of Powers鈥 on March 17 at 3:30 p.m. in Stouffer Auditorium. The program is free and open to the community.

IUP Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient Selected for Keepers of the Flame

Kevin W. Bailey, an 糖心vlog 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and vice chancellor for student affairs at UNC Charlotte, was honored by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education with the Keepers of the Flame Award for his longstanding contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts during the 2024 PASSHE Summit: Uniting for Inclusive Student Success.

OneSIS Information

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is in the process of implementing a common Student Information System across the State System schools. IUP is scheduled to begin implementing OneSIS in January 2024.

IUP to Present 鈥淣ine Days in the Sun,鈥 Exploring Shifting the Racial Balance, Social Order

糖心vlog鈥檚 Theater-By-The-Grove will present Mark Clayton Southers鈥 鈥淣ine Days in the Sun鈥 at IUP. This initiative begins Theater-By-The-Grove鈥檚 association with Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, where Southers is the founding artistic director. The play explores a world where dark skin is the desired tone, so the racial balance is shifted and the social order in America is turned upside down.

IUP Hosting Guest Artist Phillips for Program About 鈥淟ift Every Voice and Sing鈥擳he Black National Anthem鈥

Moses Phillips, who teaches ethnomusicology, music theory, and cultural studies in the Mass Communications Department at CUNY, will present 鈥淭he Brothers Johnson: 鈥楲ift Every Voice鈥 Social Justice Through Song" on February 8 at 3:30 p.m. in room 225 of Jane Leonard Hall.

Algerian Human Rights Activist to Visit Campus

Anouar Rahmani, writer and human rights activist from Algeria, will visit campus on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He will hold an informal meet and greet during the Common Hour in the Folger Student Center and will present to the greater IUP community at 4:00 p.m. in Leonard Hall, room 225.

LGBTQIA+ and Supported at IUP

In its efforts to be truly student centered, IUP aims to support every student. Key to that are services for the LGBTQIA+ community. Hear about the experiences of a gender-fluid student and about the support IUP provides.

Unity Ball Celebrates Latino Culture, Intersectionality

Celebrating Latino culture and intersectionality, 糖心vlog鈥檚 Latino Student Organization (LaSO) will host the inaugural IUP Unity Ball on April 23 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the IUP Hadley Union Building Ohio Room. The event will include refreshments catered by Casa Jaliso and dancing. Formal attire is requested. It is free and open to the community.

Be Heard Anonymous Survey of Community Attitudes about Sexual Violence Launches on April 12

On April 12, 2022, the IUP Haven Project and Social Equity and Title IX Office will begin an anonymous survey of students to learn more about issues related to inappropriate sexual behavior.
